Festival & Event Planning

Kaiser Chief's Ricky Wilson was determined to get the festival off to an energetic start It especially had to redeem itself after the whole Adele 'speech-gate' incident in 2012 followed by what can only be described the crappiest performance by Blur. There have been mixed reactions to headline act Metallica at the Glastonbury Festival, as Lizo Mzimba reports

So overall I have to say I had a truly fabulous day. Although Ben Howard was slightly disappointing I would still without a doubt go and see him live again (for a 5th time) and seriously can't stress enough how good his new album is going to be. Mumford and Sons proved again to many why they have become such a hugely popular band all around the world. For me though I was most pleased to have seen Edward Sharpe and the Magnetics - Having never seen them live before and being such a big fan, I was truly stoked. Mumford & Sons

In 2012, Above and Beyond embarked on the Group Therapy World Tour, performing sold-out shows at select venues and clubs across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. The group also made their debut in Hawaii, performing at the Kaka'ako Waterfront Park in Honolulu. In August 2012, Above and Beyond graced the cover of Mixmag, and performed a live set at Mixmag Headquarters along with Mat Zo. The 2-hour set was subsequently released as an exclusive label showcase mix titled United Colours of Anjunabeats.

The belief that because V Festival hosts many mainstream (or none cool) pop acts it is full of none music lovers is in itself narrow minded. Don't tell me the 5ft lady stood next to me for six hours waiting for Beyonce, yet not tall enough to see over the crowd, but so tinged with excitement and able to sing every word without a mutter of a complaint isn't a music lover. She may not fit in with some hyper cool virtual musical reality of some, but her passion for the art shouldn't be judged any less worthy than that as for any other artist.

Single of the Year. Oh man, there’s a lot of nominee’s and I’m definitely not evaluating all of them. Lord no. I personally want our girl Ellie Goulding and her ridiculously good, ridiculously happy and ridiculously fun track Burn to win whilst @MermaidStalker wants cheeky chappy Olly Murs and is A-grade attempt at a love song Dear Darlin’ to win. But in all hindsight, if One Direction’s One Way Or Another or Disclosure’s White Noise doesn’t win, then for once, the BRIT awards are not a fixed piece of rubbish designed to make more money for the greedy guys in the black suits. Amen.
