Firefly Music Festival

Firefly Music Festival

I’ve been to Glastonbury for the last 4 years and it just gets better every time. This year, the 40 th anniversary of the festival’s birth in the 1000 acres Somerset fields making up Michael Eavis’ legendary farm, was no exception. Who would have thought that something which began as “Pilton Pot Festival” which cost £1 entry, with free milk from the farm itself, could have become the amazing and renowned event which over 177,000 people attended this year?

Festivalgoers will have to register on the Glastonbury website before buying tickets, with a maximum purchase limit of six each per transaction, both for standard and coach-plus-ticket packages. Those interested in buying Glastonbury tickets should head online to glastonbury.seetickets.com , or call 0844 412 4635 from a UK phone (for international callers +44 1159 934 183). Perhaps what truly separates Keys N Krates from the mass of Electronic and Hip Hop producers out there is the unique show they create by performing their bassy beats as a band, completely live. When you go to a KNK show, you will see their music and the music of others morphed and turned on it's head using only drums, keys, turntables and live sampling. This unique style creates not only a crazy dance party, but an experience and vibe like no other.

Beats Antique has a sound that is kind of hard to describe because there just aren't a lot of bands out there like them. If you were to be teleported into uncharted territory, a tribal region in the middle of Africa, into sacred ritual where everyone had some type of synth machine hooked up to their instrument. An electronic drum circle keeps the beat, occasional deep bass hits, and a witchdoctor plays the flute accompanying a small string section, you may be imaging what Beats Antique sounds like. Of course, nothing like that exists, and that's what makes the band so fun to see live.

They were introduced about four years ago. Aluna, from Hertfordshire, had moved to London with the idea of becoming a musician or an artist. (Her specialism? "Bad painting.") She had odd jobs selling T-shirts and working as a receptionist and she was the singer in a band, My Toys Like Me George was living with his parents in Molesey, making music in his bedroom and hoping to build a name as a remixer. He was invited to work on tracks for My Toys Like Me. Shortly after that, George and Aluna embarked on what was, essentially, a professional affair – an extended musical fling.
