Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, Bran Stark & More Get The Disney Treatment? VIDEO
Game of Thrones final episodes are always intense, and "The Watchers on the Wall" did not disappoint. The ninth episode of Season 4 was a gruesome, bloody mess. We knew this was going to be bad, but we were not prepared for how dire things got at the wall. We were holding our breaths the entire time as this battle was brought to life.
Another potential candidate for Jon Snow's mother, Wylla was a wet nurse working for the Dayne family at Starfall during Ned's time there. We first hear of Wylla early in the first novel, Game of Thrones, when the King Robert Baratheon asks Ned Stark if she was Jon Snow's mother. When Robert mentions Wylla in his typically lewd and bawdy style, Ned is similarly typical in his polite refusal to be drawn on the subject, neither confirming nor denying that Wylla is Jon Snow's mother. Is this because he is too polite to discuss a lady's honour, or because Wylla had nothing to do with Jon Snow's birth, and Ned is sworn to secrecy about who Jon Snow's mother really is?
It's the most amount of green screen that we've done on Thrones. I've always been proud that Thrones minimizes the amount of green screen that it needs to do, but something like this with giants and mammoths, obviously we needed to use a lot of it. We were out there for a solid month in Belfast doing this, the battle sequence, on and off for a month. It felt like doing a movie of Thrones, weirdly. It's the most I've been involved in a single episode by a long way. It was pretty intense."
Grenn and his men recite the Night’s Watch oath to inspire them against the tunnel giant’s approach, while Sam unleashes Ghost to take on the Wildlings, and Jon Snow finally joins the fight. Styr attacks and nearly gets the better of Jon, before Jon finally manages to fell the Thenn with a blacksmith’s hammer to the skull. Jon turns around to find Ygritte pointing her bow at him, though in her hesitation the young Oliver lands an arrow through Ygritte’s heart. Jon comforts her as she dies, remembering their time in the hotspring cave together.
