Henrik Lundqvist Robs Thomas Vanek With Sprawling Blocker Save — Pro All Stars
The reverberating thought that Henrik and I were over started a painful pulsating through my skull that my ice cold hands pressing against my forehead couldn’t cool down. So instead my body managed to stand up and navigate through the apartment until I reached the kitchen. Instead of going to the bathroom, taking a few Advil and going to take a nap my mind had other plans. Later, after Lundqvist and Rangers center Brad Richards answered about 10 minutes worth of questions together, the goalie was asked again as he was leaving the media room. Lundqvist is happy about this break. This will give him some time to savor what he’s done and get his mind ready for what’s ahead. First on Saturday afternoon at Staples Center I was lucky enough to nab two $100 seats for $20 each from my co-worker to the game. So my friend and I hopped on the subway and headed downtown to the arena where we took our seats seven rows up and one section to the right of the visitors bench. After Lundqvist made a save against Sabres captain Jason Pominville, Vanek got the rebound and fired another. But Lundqvist executed a quick sprawling save that kept the puck from finding the twine. The Rangers were unable to clear the zone as their star netminder made another save against Vanek with his skate while on his stomach.
