#22JumpStreet : The Laughter Continues “22 Jump Street” (Film Review)

The Laughter Continues “22 Jump Street” (Film Review)

The first 22 Jump Street red-band trailer has hit the Internet, and since it is red-band, you can be assured it is NSFW. There are quite a few dirty jokes, some crude language and sexual innuendo. It is also quite hilarious. Check it out and then come back for our thoughts.

Amber joined Hill and Channing Tatum, among other comedy heavy-hitters in the hilarious (and we truly do mean hilarious) follow-up to the 2012 blockbuster 21 Jump Street Although the flick is arguably her most high-profile role to date, the 27-year-old is no stranger to the big screen or the college scene — Stevens starred on the sorority life cult classic Greek for four years. She grew up in L.A., and credits her father, Shadoe Stevens, who had a starring role on the '90s series Dave's World , for inspiring her to get into the business. "I grew up watching him do a live show every week, and it was just so much fun."

Then again, there is a plethora of cameos to tickle the funny bone that also add to the fun. Sure, some can be considered subtle; such as the appearance of Archer himself, H. Jon Benjamin (whose face might be the first thing many people recognize). While others are out in full force, like Patton Oswalt’s appearance as a somewhat freethinking professor near the beginning of the film. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil all the fun for you, but 21 Jump Street had a handful of smaller roles that really beefed up the comedy, and 22 Jump Street made sure to keep the party going.

It’s also unworthy of a movie that’s as funny and creative as 22 Jump Street This is a comedy where I was laughing so hard that I know I missed jokes while I was doubled-over in my seat. Although Neighbors hits its themes harder ( 22 Jump Street ‘s loose message is a warning against the dangers of having too much of the same thing), there’s nothing I can do about Lord & Miller being on my comic wavelength. I adore every one of their movies. They’re surprising, clever, weird, and while I could say their movies are far better than they have any right to be, the filmmakers have earned that right by succeeding again and again. 22 Jump Street shows that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Instead, admire your handiwork and brag.
