SEATTLE - The US Women's National Team goalie and former UW star Hope Solo has been arrested after an altercation at her sister's residence overnight. SEATTLE — U.S. Olympics soccer team gold medalist and former University of Washington star Hope Solo has been arrested after an altercation at her sister's residence overnight.
Now that we think about it, we never thought we’d hear about Hope’s altercation with DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy either. Remember? The Olympian wrote in her memoir about how her dance partner slapped across the face? Yup, also horrible. Jerramy Stevens was released from custody later in Monday after it was determined that there was not enough evidence to charge him. Oh, that we could return to this summer, when Hope Solo was only in the news for being awesome at soccer and crazy hot. Those were epic times.
The altercation occurred on the eve of Solo and Stevens' wedding, and the calls were made by Solo's brother. Marcus Solo reportedly called 911 four times around 3 a.m. and told police that there was a fight, that alcohol was involved, and that medical attention was needed, the New England Sports Network reports. Police found Hope Solo with blood on her elbow and wasn't cooperative, the report said. Marcus Solo had blood on his forehead and knees after an alleged confrontation with unwanted party guests. However, what we know for sure is that one of those eight people was Hope Solo , 31, and another one was her fiance, former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens , 33.
Police noticed dried blood on Stevens’ shirt and on his left cheek. Stevens said the blood had gotten on his cheek after Hope Solo kissed him but would not respond when asked about the blood on his shirt, according to police. According to the police report, the Solo siblings were inconsistent in their descriptions of the unknown partygoers. Hope Solo repeatedly yelled to her brother, “Don’t say anything to them, Marcus,” the report stated. Hope Solo grew up in Richland, Wash., and played soccer at the UW from 1999 to 2002. She is currently the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. national team, with which she has won two gold medals. She played for the Seattle Sounders Women during its 2012 season. Solo is the goalkeeper for the Seattle Reign FC.
