Wolfenstein The New Order
We think that Bethesda might have been a bit too aggressive with these system requirements though as you likely won’t need an Intel Core i7 processor to run this game title. The Intel Core i5 processor series is a very popular CPU and chips like the Core i5 2500K should have no problem running this game title. To say that an Intel Core i7 processor is absolutely required is just plain wrong. Also, what generation Intel Core i7 is needed as there are several generations now going back nearly half a decade (Think Intel Core i7-970 from July 2010. What does Bethesda consider the AMD equivalent to the Intel Core i7 processor these days anyway?
The Adventure - Hi-octane action and thrilling adventure weaved together into a tightly paced, super immersive game narrative.Intense, cinematic and rendered in stunning detail with id® Software’s id Tech® 5 engine, Wolfenstein sends players across Europe on a mission to bring down the Nazi war machine. Infiltrate their most heavily guarded facilities, battle high-tech Nazi legions, and take control of super-weapons that have conquered the earth – and beyond. Wolfenstein is under development at MachineGames, a studio comprised of a seasoned group of developers recognized for their work creating award-winning games.
There's a wide spectrum of human life and suffering on display, beyond the often — and often overly — excessive violence. From doctors weeping at their own complicity as they're forced to sign away "subhuman" patients, to German missionaries horrified at the eradication of indigenous peoples around the world; the Polish grandmother who sobs as she tears at the uniform of a Nazi captain, and the African resistance fighter trapped in a Croatian work camp. Machine Games seems invested in shoving human collateral damage right in front of the now almost quaint Nazi-shoot-em-up that Wolfenstein began as.
That dramatic depiction of the cost of violence seems at first to sit awkwardly with the decidedly old-school shooting The New Order is built on. The two-weapon, health-recharging dynamic that's dominated shooters for more than a decade is absent. Instead, Machine Games takes Wolfenstein back to its roots, slowly giving you an arsenal, with nearly every weapon available for dual wielding and with alternate fire modes. Figuring out which weapon to use at any given moment in the various combat situations The New Order presents is a big part of the puzzle. Health is restored via health kits; armor pickups are vital — absent the fact that health will recharge to the nearest multiple of 20, it can feel like 1992 all over again.
Beyond the stealth mechanics, The New Order gets plenty right when it comes to just about everything else in the gameplay. The shooting is tight but not too tight; not snappy, really, but very controlled. I like the dual-gun option, especially with weapons like the automatic shotgun. The Assault - Experience intense first-person combat as you go up against oversized Nazi robots, hulking Super Soldiers and elite shock troops – all rendered in stunning detail with the id Tech 5 engine. Bethesda also pressed 45-rpm singles of some of the songs to hand out at a “Wolfenstein”-themed party the company is throwing April 12 as part of the PAX East gaming conference in Boston. There could also be an LP pressing, Mr. Hines said.
